This clean, classically tailored silhouette has gathers making the dress super fun. I created this dress because I wanted a shirt dress with princess lines that included the new trend I call 'hip puffs.' They're not really new though. They harken back to Victorian times and even to the early 18th century panniers. Fashion keeps coming back to them because they're incredible. This is a more refined, subtle version keeping the puffiness flattering using the other current trend - a drop waist. Similarly, the princess lines are carried out into the arm, adding a beautiful detail and keeping the puff in line. This dress can be made out of anything from silk satin, for an evening out or flannel for a practical, easy to wear fall or winter dress. I especially likes it with stripes. Read more
